GETTING STARTED
-
Join Aspire
The first thing you'll need to do is have an active Individual Professional Profile on Aspire, New York's registry for early childhood professionals. The process includes setting up an Individual Account as well as submitting documentation for verification.
NYSAEYC uses some of your verified information from your Professional Profile to help determine your eligibility. Go to the Aspire website to get started. First, create an "Individual Professional Profile," select the option "Register as a trainer" before beginning the application process, and submit your application. Allow 6-8 weeks after sending in your supporting documents for your application to be processed. Once your application is processed, your account becomes active.
-
Intent to Apply Form and References
Once you have an active Professional Profile and are registered as a trainer with Aspire, submit the online Intent to Apply form and 3 professional references.
-
Trainer Portfolio Required for Credential Level 1,2, and 3 applicants only
After reviewing your qualifications and references, NYSAEYC will notify you of your eligibility to earn the Trainer Credential. At that time, NYSAEYC will let you know that you have 90 days to submit a portfolio that demonstrates your competence.
