Rochester AEYC was organized in 1964 and has a satellite located in Ontario County. RAEYC sponsors several meetings each year for child care workers, teachers, family providers, parents and other professionals in the field. These include evening program meetings, noontime and late afternoon seminars and yearly conferences. Our members are active in presenting at State and National conferences. RAEYC collaborates with the City School District to present a Continuity Conference for professionals who work with children from pre-kindergarten through school age. In addition, RAEYC maintains a speakers bureau of professionals who provide presentations for groups and agencies that request them. RAEYC has collaborated with the Department of Health to design a Child Developmental "Wheel" which is provided, without charge, to agencies and individuals throughout the county.
Every April RAEYC sponsors activities in support of the Month of the Young Child recognizing the professionals from the area who are committed to serving young children.
As an advocacy group, we seek to support policies that strengthen families, provide care and services to young children, promote high quality standards for child care and recognize the professional rights and responsibilities of those who work with young children.
